Ground Beef Sandwich

Ingredients:
500g ground beef (preferably lean)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, diced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 crusty sandwich rolls or burger buns
Sliced cheese (optional)
Lettuce leaves
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced pickles
Mayonnaise or mustard, to taste
Olive oil, for cooking
Method:
Cook the Ground Beef:
Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and diced bell pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the Ground Beef:
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula.
Cook the beef until browned and no longer pink, stirring occasionally to break up any clumps.
Season the Beef:
Stir in the ground cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Split the sandwich rolls or burger buns and lightly toast them if desired.
Spread mayonnaise or mustard on the bottom half of each roll.
Layer lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and pickles on top of the sauce.
Spoon the cooked ground beef mixture onto the sandwiches.
If using, place a slice of cheese on top of the hot beef mixture to melt slightly.
Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the rolls.
Serve:
Serve the ground beef sandwiches immediately, while warm.
Tip:
Customize your sandwich with additional toppings such as avocado slices, jalapeños, or your favorite sauce.
