Street Tacos

Ingredients:

  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 pound carne asada (or beef skirt steak)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges
  • Salsa (red or green, your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meat: Season the carne asada with salt and pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over high heat. Grill the meat for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness (medium rare is popular). Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  2. Slice the Meat: After resting, slice the carne asada into small, bite-sized pieces.
  3. Prepare the Tortillas: Heat the corn tortillas on a dry skillet or grill until warm and pliable, about 30 seconds per side.
  4. Assemble the Tacos: Place a few pieces of carne asada on each tortilla. Top with diced onions and chopped cilantro. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
  5. Serve: Serve the tacos with salsa on the side and additional lime wedges for extra flavor.
